Spring Open Day 2019

Come and join us for our Annual Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary Spring Open Day on Sunday 5th May 2019.

Here is our programme of events in the main show ring:

1030: Opening Ceremony performed by Lanestars Dance Troupe
1050: Performance by Pearly King & Queen & Military Landrovers
1115: Performance by Vectis Corps of Drums
1145: Set up for Shetland In Hand Show (£5 donation)
1200: Shetland In Hand Show – *** PLEASE NOTE – THE SHETLAND PONY EXPERIENCE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED***
1230: Demonstration by Wight Agility Group (including have a go at agility with your own dog)
1330: Performance by Raw Samba
1400: Come and meet our new donkeys
1430: Performance by Pearly King & Queen & Military Landrovers
1500: Gun Dog Demonstration
1530: Performance by Raw Samba
1545: Set up for Shetland In Hand Show
1600: Shetland In Hand Show

There will also be live music in the courtyard from Ricky J, Hannah Brewer (am only) the Wight Accordion Group Duo, the Boogie Woogie Sisters and Marie Smith.

Shop and Cafe will be open serving hot and cold food / refreshments.
Free parking and free entry all day.

Ferry Travel

You will need to visit the Isle of Wight via ferry, so please follow these instructions: ...from Southampton Take either the Red Funnel Car Ferry (1hr) to East Cowes or the Red Jet (20 mins) to West Cowes. They go back and forward regularly throughout the day. ...from Portsmouth Take either the Wightlink Car Ferry (35 mins) to Fishbourne or the Wightlink Catamaran (15 mins) to Ryde Pier Head. They go back and forward regularly throughout the day.

Bus Travel

If you would like to visit the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary via bus, please follow these instructions: ...from Newport From Newport Bus Station, you will need to take the No.3; it leaves Newport Bus Station at 5 mins and 35 mins past each hour throughout the day. ...from Ryde From Ryde Bus Station, you will need to take the No.3; it leaves Ryde Bus Station at 15 mins and 45 mins past each hour throughout the day. Please note, this is a much longer journey than Newport.
