Sunday, 24th November 2019 – 11.00 till 15.30

We’ve had a great deal of interest in this year’s Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary Christmas Market; it’s understandably one of our more popular events on the calendar that has been growing yearly.

Our 2018 Christmas Market was extremely busy and unfortunately, we reached the point whereby our car park reached capacity within an hour and we sadly had to turn people away…something we would never ever want to do.

The heavy and persistent rain throughout October has meant that it is already unlikely that we will be able to offer an overflow car parking on our grass, as we have at other events.

All island events only have a finite number of parking spaces and we are no different. We need to manage visitor car parking spaces sensibly and we are therefore providing the following TRAVEL PLAN for people coming along to our Christmas Market.

Donkey Sanctuary Car Park

There will be 140 car parking spaces that can be booked in advance:

  1. 70 in the morning (10.00 – 12.30)
  2. 70 in the afternoon (13.00 – 15.30)

Parking is FREE, but you must collect a car park ticket in advance from the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary.

Ticket Ordering Process

  1. Please telephone us in advance to book your ticket on 01983 852693.
  2. Please have your name, vehicle registration and email address ready.
  3. Your car park ticket can be (a) emailed to you, or (b) collected from the Sanctuary
  4. Tickets will be available for collection from Monday 11th November 2019.

There will be a small number of blue badge tickets available for morning and afternoon.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no car parking on the day unless you have pre-booked a car park ticket. All tickets MUST be displayed in vehicle windows, otherwise you will not be permitted entry. PLEASE CAR SHARE WHERE YOU CAN!

Red Squirrel Trail

We shall continue to keep you up to date with any further necessary traffic information, updates and services affected by the Christmas Market; messages will be shared via our website, social media and local media.

We would like to welcome all our supporters and visitors to our beautiful Donkey Sanctuary and it’s Christmas Market. As usual, there has been a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes to ensure that this year’s event runs smoothly and has the least amount of disruption.

We would highlight that we are limited on car park space, so would encourage members of the public and visitors to continue to use our designated park-and-ride system from Godshill, along with the other local transport options, such as the buses, all the details are above.

The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary asks that visitors plan their route carefully to avoid disappointment on the day of the Christmas Market, especially late morning when traffic volumes will be their highest.
