As a charity we rely completely on donations in order for us to continue the work that we do. We are so grateful to everyone that chooses to donate to us and keeps the Sanctuary going. For some of our larger projects that we need extra help with, we run appeals to let everyone know what we are working towards and specifically how you can all help us achieve these.

Valentine's Mud Control Mat Appeal

Gift your favourite donkey a mud control mat

This year for Valentine's Day, could you gift your favourite donkey a mud control mat?


We use mud control mats in our high traffic areas around the Sanctuary including gateways, the inside of field shelters, the area outside of field shelters, and walkways. They provide a much needed, dry, firm area of hard standing and place for our donkeys and ponies to rest.

They also help to greatly reduce health issues that come from having to walk through and stand in the mud such as infections, abscesses, white line disease, and mud fever.


We need around 80 slabs to cover a gateway and 150 slabs to cover the front of a shelter, with each slab costing us £8.10.

Equine Clinic Appeal

Equine Clinic Update

Since commencing our equine clinic fundraising appeal – we have raised an incredible £117,000.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us through donations and fundraising.


With the costs of building materials and labour charges increasing rapidly, we have taken the decision to pause active fundraising for the project for the time being to enable us to conduct another feasibility study to ensure we are managing this project with full due diligence.
