When we take in a donkey, for whatever reason, we want to be able to offer a re-homing option for a donkey who might be more suited to living in a private home, with just one other donkey, or might be a companion for another donkey who already resides in that home.
They love herd life, some in small groups, some in large, and some in groups which reflect their special needs. However, we want to be able to offer several options so that we can suit each donkey’s needs. We are still in the early days of this scheme, but hope that it will be very successful. At the moment, we are looking for anybody on the Island who believes they may be able to offer a donkey a home in the future. They will need suitable grazing, suitable stabling and be prepared to follow our training for re-homing process.
If you would like to register an interest and feel you have a suitable facility, please email Julia Newton at the Sanctuary julia.newton@iowdonkeysanctuary.org or fill out the form below. Thank you.
